Research topics
Mattia Chiappini is a psychologist at IRCCS Medea – Associazione La Nostra Famiglia, and a PHD student in Neuroscience at University of Turin.
He obtained his M.Sc. in Psychology at the Catholic University of the Sacred Hearth, specializing with the use of new technologies (VR in particular) applied to the psychological research.
At IRCCS Medea, he is involved in applied research, particularly the impact that robotic-assistive technology has on a target group of users characterized by special needs. Also, he is specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder with a particular focus on the high functioning part of the spectrum, thanks to the an European project called "Mindbot" and to a executive course in job coaching for individuals with autism spectrum disorder, workers in particular.
During his phd period, he has the possibility to study UX issues relate to technology usage and he also had the chance to deepen neurophysiological rehabilitation through immersive VR: CAVE technology as well as portable devices (such as Oculus Go or other VR headsets).
